We are changing up the course and adding new mud to your old mud favorites!!
This course will be CHALLENGING. Would you expect anything less from Marines? It consists roughly of 3 miles of off-road running, which entails some obstacles, hills, and of course, mud pits. Wear old clothing and shoes. This off road 5K adventure takes you across scenic trails and fields, obstacles, mud, and water. It is open to individuals and teams. Be prepared for some real clean fun! Melton Hill Lake and local AMR Fire Dept is available for those who will need to be cleansed afterwards...Marines will make sure you successfully complete their course!
Every participant will receive a Commemorative 2023 MudRun T-shirt during Packet Pick-up if selected during the registration process.

Course Description

This off road adventure takes you across scenic trails and fields, obstacles, and ends with a splash through refreshing water and a mud pit. It is open to individuals and teams. Be prepared for some real clean fun! Melton Hill Lake is available for those who will need to be cleansed afterwards...Marines will make sure you complete their course! Ooh-rah! Larry Winters Memorial Kid's Mud Run. The 1km Larry Winters Memorial Kid's Mud Run event is designed for kids 12 and under. (Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.) Please adhere to these guidelines when registering children for the race for their safety. We love our young mud runners and want them to have fun and be safe! NEW THIS YEAR KIDS GET SHIRTS AND FREE SNOW CONE!

Pick Up Awards
New this year will be holding Awards Ceremony. right after the Youth run.
Individual Award Classifications - Awards will be given to the top Three Overall, Female and Male. Overall winners are not eligible for age-group awards (three deep).
Age Group Award Classifications - The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Male and Female in each of the following groups:
8-11,12-15,16-20,21-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 & and over 70.
Team Award Classification - There will be Team awards in five categories: MALE ONLY, FEMALE ONLY, COED, JROTC and ROTC. Teams will consist of at least 4 members. Because Marines never leave their buddies behind all team members must cross the finish line together. The team time will be calculated on the finishing time of the fourth finisher for each team. TO REGISTER AS A TEAM MEMBER, A PARTICIPANT SHOULD GO TO THE REGISTRATION PAGE AND EITHER JOIN AN EXISTING TEAM OR CREATE A NEW TEAM AND THEN COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS. IN ORDER TO COMPETE AS A TEAM, EACH TEAM MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF FOUR MEMBERS AND A MAXIMUM OF TEN MEMBERS. ANY TEAM OUTSIDE OF THIS MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM WILL BE ASSIGNED TO ONE OF THE INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANT WAVES.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards to the winners of each team category.
Registration & Packet/Bib Pickup

Race participants may pick up their race packets prior to the race at Academy Sports + Outdoors, 145 Moss Grove Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37922 on 18-19 September between 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

Race packets may be picked up on race day at the registration table (located at the participant parking lot at Melton Hill Park) beginning at 6:00 AM. The race packet will contain your runner’s bibs with its embedded chip so if you pick up the packet early, you will not need to go to the registration table on race day – you can go from the parking area straight to the starting line.
Individual Registration and Fees
Individual: $65.00 until 21 Aug, $75.00 after 21 Aug, $85.00 after 6 Sept, Kids Run $30.00 New this year youth will get shirts Special Awards and Gifts for 1,2,3 Runners. Every runner will be getting a challenge coin! Food and water included this year as well!
Online offsite registration closes 20 September 2024 at 6 PM. Onsite registration will be available September 20 from 7:00 AM until 11:30 PM.
Since each runner’s start time and finishing time will be recorded by means of the disposable chip, we will have staggered starting times – when you register, you’ll be asked to register for one of the following start times:
Individual Runners – Start times at 8:00 AM, 8:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:00 AM, 10:30 AM & 11:30 AM. Each starting time group will contain no more than 175 runners – if you try to register in a time slot that is filled, you will be required to select a wave time that has available slots. If you arrive for your registered start time a little late, we’ll be starting runners from each group for 10 minutes after their requested wave start time. If you arrive for your registered start time more than 10 minutes after your chosen wave starts, you will need to contact the timer and start in a later start wave.You should arrive at the park one hour before your registered starting time.

There will be no refunds of unfilled teams.

Capt .Larry Winter Memorial KIDS MUD RUN
The Kid’s Mud Run for children age 12 and under is approximately 1 mile includes obstacles and large mud pit. Start Time: 12:30 PM. Participants will meet at the Young Marines tent at the main park pavilion where they will gather at 10:45am prior to the start of the run. Registration is online and cost $30.00. Kids who register early will receive a customized medal , FREE Snow cone and New this year Youth will get a shirt!
